*clears throat* Welcome mortals (humour me, ok) to my first ever book tag! *drum roll*
So as I said before, this is my first ever book tag, and even though I’m a wee bit cautious about book tags, I’m really excited about this one! And, I am definitely not participating in this just because of the name is that of a sweet.
Well, lets move on…
Chocolate Chip: A Classic Book That You Love or Really Enjoyed
Although I’ve hardly read a lot of classics, (i can count the number of classics i read on one hand and still have fingers left, so shameful *sobs*), one I did read to the end and thoroughly enjoyed by Jane Eyre. Even though I was at a classic indifferent stage of my life, I really liked it.
Thin Mints: A Fandom That You Really Want to ‘Join’ AND/OR a Hyped-Up Book You Want To Read
The Grishaverse series. At first I was skeptical about reading these books because of the back and forth between fans on twitter, but now with what I’ve heard about King Of Scars and my friend’s comment about the series or a character in it, I’m really interested in reading them. There’s also The Throne Of Glass Series, which I also really want to read .
Shortbread: An Author You Can’t Get Enough Of
Sarah MacLean! I love, love, love her historical romances! I could read them continuously till forever! Although romance is my first favourite genre, I could live on Sarah MacLean’s books forever.
Samoas/ Caramel DeLites: An Emotional Rollercoaster
I can scream this forever Stay With Me!! I haven’t read many books that do what Stay With Me did with my emotions. I still remember pacing around the house because I couldn’t settle my emotions and thinking about what had happened in the book. It was an intense book.
Oreos: A Book Whose Cover Was Better Than The Story OR Vice Versa, Where The Story Was Better Than Its Cover
Arrowheart, I was really hyped up to read it, but I felt quite disappointed when I eventually did. It wasn’t horrible perse, it was actually nice, it just wasn’t what I was expecting after seeing the cover. It had such an amazing cover, but the story just didn’t meet up.
Tagalongs/ Peanut Butter Patties: A Book That Wasn’t What You Expected
Radiance by Grace Draven, from the blurb I was expecting a nice book, I wasn’t expecting one I would love so much. Although I haven’t finished it yet, *guilty smile* I can say this confidently. Ildiko and Brishen will always hold a special place in my heart.
Snickerdoodles: A Book You May Never Stop Rereading/ Loving
Can I go for a series? I’m doing it nonetheless.
And even though I’ve read only the first book in the series, The Folk of Air trilogy is a series I would never stop loving. The Cruel Prince, and what have heard about The Wicked King so far (i haven’t read it yet *sobs in shame*) has made sure of that. Now I just have to wait a couple months more till have a good enough excuse to read The Wicked King and reread The Cruel Prince. *lies down wondering how she shall survive the remaining time*
Soft Sugar Cookies:A Book Just as Good as it Sounds
So they’re a thousand books I could put here (just five really), but I didn’t finish reading them because I…had a problem last year, but still I’ll give two of these books, because they’re the first two that came to mind. Children Of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, and Pestilence by Laura Thalassa. Even though I haven’t finished them I can say they’re amazing, the former put me in shock because I thought it was a good idea to read the last 3 chapters while I was still in the middle of the book, I haven’t tried it again since then, don’t worry. The latter was one of the books that brought me out of a reading slump.
Have you read any of the books in my list? If you have what did you think of them? Did you also do the cookie book tag? If you did I want to read it, please
